Strategy
This Bant-plus-black deck built around Atraxa, Grand Unifier weaponizes enter-the-battlefield triggers. Atraxa herself refills your hand when she enters, revealing the top ten cards and letting you take one of each card type. The deck pairs value creatures like Mulldrifter, Baleful Strix, and Ravenous Chupacabra with a suite of blink effects (Ephemerate, Cloudshift, Ghostly Flicker) and trigger-doublers (Panharmonicon, Yarok, the Desecrated, Starfield Vocalist) to loop those triggers repeatedly.
Early: Prioritize ramp and mana fixing to cast Atraxa ahead of schedule. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Fellwar Stone, and Dark Ritual accelerate you, while Birds of Paradise, Noble Hierarch, Avacyn's Pilgrim, Elves of Deep Shadow, and Deathrite Shaman provide colored mana. Green ramp spells like Farseek, Nature's Lore, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, and Rampant Growth fetch lands, and Wood Elves, Solemn Simulacrum, Elvish Rejuvenator, and Coiling Oracle ramp while leaving a body. Hold interaction like Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Counterspell, Swan Song, and An Offer You Can't Refuse to protect your development.
Mid: Deploy value creatures whose enter triggers generate advantage: Mulldrifter and Baleful Strix draw cards, Ravenous Chupacabra kills a creature, Aether Channeler flexes, and Agent of Treachery steals a permanent. Land a trigger-doubler such as Panharmonicon, Yarok, the Desecrated, or Starfield Vocalist so those effects fire twice. Once Atraxa arrives, use blink pieces like Ephemerate, Cloudshift, Restoration Angel, Charming Prince, Felidar Guardian, and Flickerwisp to reset her enter ability and refill your hand.
Late: Establish repeatable blink engines. Soulherder, Teleportation Circle, and Y'shtola Rhul flicker a creature every end step, while Deadeye Navigator, once soulbound to Atraxa or another payoff, provides an on-demand blink loop. Brago, King Eternal blinks your board on combat damage, resetting every enter trigger at once. Eternal Witness and Nature's Rhythm rebuy or find key pieces, and Eerie Interlude, Ghostly Flicker, Momentary Blink, and Peregrine Drake add flexibility and even free mana for further loops.
Win conditions: There is no single combo kill listed, so you grind opponents out with overwhelming card and board advantage. Repeatedly blinking Atraxa refills your hand faster than opponents can rebuild. Massacre Wurm sweeps opposing boards for -2/-2 and drains life as their creatures die, and blinking it multiplies that effect. Agent of Treachery steals threats, Ravenous Chupacabra and removal spells clear blockers, and your evasive fliers—Atraxa with flying and lifelink, Mulldrifter, Baleful Strix, and Restoration Angel—close the game through the air.
- Panharmonicon - Doubles enter-the-battlefield triggered abilities from artifacts and creatures, letting Atraxa and value creatures fire twice.
- Yarok, the Desecrated - Doubles any permanent's enter trigger, extending Panharmonicon's coverage to lands and enchantments as well.
- Soulherder - Grows on every exile and blinks a creature each end step, providing a repeatable engine to reuse Atraxa's trigger.
- Ephemerate - Cheap blink with rebound, resetting an enter trigger like Atraxa's twice from a single card.
- Deadeye Navigator - Soulbonds to a payoff for an on-demand, repeatable blink loop to abuse enter triggers.
- Brago, King Eternal - Blinks your whole board of nonland permanents on combat damage, resetting every enter trigger simultaneously.
- Massacre Wurm - Board wipe and life drain on enter that blink effects can repeat for devastating swings.
- Eternal Witness - Recurs any card from your graveyard and can be blinked to rebuy answers or engine pieces repeatedly.
